Welcome to the Dark Druidism, indeed. This RPG is a totally random, unplanned-out collision of reality and mythology, where different people's imaginations can come together to do battle, explore new worlds, or just study the druidic evolution of nature.
Your staff members are known as The Druids, and they will be more than happy to assist you if you have any questions or problems. The Druid Anyen (meaning "eternity") is the administrator of the entire site and makes all the changes you will see to the forum.
The Druids Valpalan (meaning "great power") have specific jobs around the forum and can help point you in the right direction, or listen to your ideas. Occasionally we will also have Druids of Watching, who are just in charge of a specific board on the forum.

Attention New Members 1) Once you have registered, you have a one month timeframe in which you must make your first post. I don't care where, just SOMEWHERE. Keep in mind that your post count will only increase if you post in The Expanse or The Past; posting in The Menel or The Kemen, which are both out of character, will not count toward your total but WILL count toward your activity.
2) New members are typically considered to be "under probation" due to problems we have had in the past. This means nothing major except that your first several posts will be monitored very closely by your druidic Admins and Moderators. Once it's been established that you're not intending to cause trouble, you're off the hook.
3) After your initial post (which, as a reminder, must be made within a month after you register, see rule 1), your account will be deleted either after one month of not posting (even if you log in), or after two weeks of not logging in. If this is going to be a problem (aka you will be without internet access for that obscenely long time), PM or email staff in advance so that we can give your account "immunity."
4) You can join the RP at any time and at any place, but be realistic, and think critically about where you post. If there's an enormous battle, most people's first inclination is going to be to stay away. That may not necessarily be true for your character, however. Just use good judgment.

The Important Rules Many of these rules are shamelessly stolen from this other awesome RPG, but I hope the creator of said RPG will forgive me since I'm advertising it.
1) You are free to ask me for my reasons for making a decision, but pretty much nothing overturns an admin's decision. The same thing goes for the other staff members, but I'll have the final word in almost everything.
NOTE: I am not, however, an evil psychotic admin bent on making members' lives miserable. I'm pretty laid-back actually. If you reason with me, there's a good chance we come to a compromise. Respond negatively to me (or any staff member), and there will be consequences.
2) Do not godmode, powermode, metagame, or use excessive OOC. Read below under "RPG and OOC Etiquette" for definitions. (And I mean it, cause if you do this and claim that you don't know, I'll know you didn't read the rules, and you'll get into MORE trouble.)
3) Watch what you post, not only in terms of language but also in terms of violence/graphicity (don't know if that's a word, but it is now). For one thing, some people get offended easily, and for another, not everything needs to be described for us to imagine what is going on.
4) Try to keep all your not-in-character posting in The Kemen (which means "the earth"... The Menel means "the heavens" and is mostly for staff members to post announcements and rules.) Save the Expanse for all your in-character RPGing.
5) New members and White Star ranked members can have up to four characters; Green Star, Red Star, and Blue Star ranked members can have up to five characters on your account; but no more. Also, please have your primary character's name set to your Display Name.
6) Please also post in only one location in The Expanse at a time. Let's face it, realistically, unless you have dimension-hopping powers (which likely won't be given out), you can't exist in two places at once.
7) Posting more than once in a row (usually referred to as double-posting) is extremely discouraged. If we see it, we'll combine your entries into a single post and put a little note that reminds you not to do it again.

RPG and OOC Etiquette ...so's we can not get into trouble with the administrators and we can have a nice, clean role-play.
1) Use common sense: just be polite to your fellow RPG members. This includes in-context posting in The World and The Past, and out-of-character (OOC) posting in The Kemen or PMing (Private Messaging). If I or any other admins start getting complaints about your language, you can quite possible get the boot.
2) Do Not Use Excessive OOC When you are post IC (in character) under either "The World" or "The Past", above all what I do not want to see is a whole bunch of posts that are nothing but OOC, one right after the other. Most OOC comments can be made over PMs, or in the "Story Discussion" thread in Dark Druid Discussion. "The Kemen" is an entirely OOC board, and that is where it belongs. The occasional OOC is tolerated, but never by itself.
3) Do Not Use Metagaming Metagaming occurs when you use things that you the MEMBER knows, outside of the storyline, and act like you the CHARACTER also knows these things when they have no reason to. This automatically creates an unfair advantage to your characters in the situations you encounter.
Sometimes you may not be aware that you are metagaming. Much of the world that Dark Druid takes place in is vastly unknown, in the middle of a lot of change with the recent destruction of Thaurana and the eternal hiding of the druidism in the forest. Think critically about what your character knows before you post. If we ask you to change your post because of metagaming (or anything else, for that matter), do it, or else we will either change it for you or delete it.
4) Do Not Use Godmoding Godmoding is taking control of someone else's character, no matter how slight the control is. Be certain that you don't do any accidental godmoding, or ask permission first.
By taking control I mean for instance that I might put, "Sulo aimed at Alton, but Alton dodged the punch." Or, "Sulo stabbed Alton." Both of these are godmoding; the second one because something I did invaded the RP space that Alton has. Since we are all supposed to be realistic on this site, Alton himself would post if the blade actually stabbed him or if he dodged it.
5) Do Not Use Powermoding Similar to godmoding, powermoding is acting way more powerful than your opponents or RP partners in a situation where you should not normally be that powerful. This would for example be something like, "Sulo said a spell that would automatically destroy Alton, no matter what he did to defend himself." But it could also be something subtle like, "Sulo blocked the attack," if there was no realistic way for me to block it.
Often we come across this problem on character profiles as well, and we will talk to you if you need to tone down your character's power. Failing to comply can result in suspension from the website.
